Anybody have experience with this so called malady? I was watching YouTube videos last night by some cats called gravity golf and they are for it. Flash back to 1987 when I first took up golf. It brought back a memory of my first six months training with a fellow who said out of the blue one day “you’ve got a flying right elbow just like Jack”. He said it was ok, just keep on doing what you’re doing. If it works for Jack it’s gotta be ok. I played that way for 3 years before I got into racing and put my clubs away. Fast forward to 2012 when I quit racing and dusted off the clubs. Watching videos on YouTube, trying to find my swing, everybody said to tuck that elbow in on the backswing. After almost 6 years back in the game my swing still feels awkward and distance is still not close to where it used to be. Granted, I’m years older now, but I’m way off from where I used to be. So today, armed with the gravity golf flying right elbow knowledge, I setup the Skytrak and wailed away. It felt weird at first, mentally reminding myself to throw that elbow out. But wow, I picked up 15-20 yards on average with my 7-iron. My dispersion was all over the place, but I think once I find the sweet spot in this new swing accuracy will come. I still need to slow down my swing, become a striker, not a hitter. That’ll probably gain me more distance, too. What say you?
