We do the same except for an Eagle where we give 6 points. Hole in one is 6 points also, because it's an Eagle on a par 3.
We play our Quota game 3 times a week (Mon, Wed and Fri). Once you establish a quota we adjust after every round like this. -3 or worse you go down 1, -2 to +2 you stay the same, +3, +4, +5 you go up 1, +6, +7, +8 you go up 2, +9 and above you go up 3 quota points.
On Wednesdays the Pro Shop has a Quota game also. They adjust differently. I believe for every 2 points over your Quota you go up 1 and the same for going down (for every 2 points under your Quota you go down 1 point) Not sure if they have a minimum or maximum to go up or down. I believe they do though.
Also, in our game the minimum Quota you can have is 14 (~ 22 handicap). Like I said before we have 2 skin holes and 2 greenie / closest to the pin holes. Used to have skins on all the holes, but we gave strokes thus net skins. Too much complaining, so now we have 2 skin holes and rotate the holes. Tomorrow it will be #3 and #12. Monday #4 and #13 etc., etc..
We don't give strokes on skins, but what we do is if there's a tie the low Quota wins the skin. The thinking behind this was that greenies favor the high Quota players (better golfers) so to even it out we did it this way.
We don't play for high stakes. It's a $5.00 game and skins and greenies only pay $3.00 a piece. Yesterday we had 15 guys and we paid out 4 places. I won $23.00 for 1st place Quota and had the greenie on #5 for another $3.00.
Quota is a fun game where everyone can compete despite your level of golf.
