It took just a little interweb research but it appears that many smartphones assume your pictures are in the landscape position when you upload them to forums. If you take the pictures with your phone upright/vertically oriented (logo on top), your uploaded pictures will likely post sideways in a forum. Turn your phone 90 degrees to the left (sideways/horizontal) with the logo on the left and snap your pics. They should now upload to forums in the correct view.
