Damn Canoodlians! 😉
Well, i have been down a few times in Winter but we ( me and locals) always played the reasonably priced and out of the way courses. Dont recall ever paying more than $60 and that 60 was for a good course in Poston Butte.
think of how much my rich Countrymen add to,your local economy in winter as you rape them and they smile.
Weirfan Poston Butte is cheap because of where it is, too. About 1 hour+ away from the heart of the valley. Even Bear Creek by me is $60-$70 on the weekend and that's an average course at best. You can play it for $20 including breakfast and a beer in the summer! 😂
RobertThomas It's also an hour further away, hence the lower price. Not many people in Phoenix are willing to drive 1-2 hours for a round of golf, when there are hundreds of courses within 20 minutes in any direction.
Its 30 minutes more from my house, so I have no problem paying 100.00 for Wickenburg Ranch opposed to 260.00 for Verrado . I will play anywhere, Tucson, Prescott, Payson, if the course is nice! Hell, Colorado, Utah, Nevada, etc. for that matter. 🙂
Anyway, who cares how overpriced the courses are now....because they sure as hell aren't for DS in Septemeber! 🙂
FauxAmish You will be missed, Pat! 😔

Even Colbert Hills in Manhattan, KS? 😙
Sure, when I am visiting my daughter. 🙂
Following, hoping to be able to play a few days up in the big city this year too. Kind of depends on kids after school schedules. FauxAmish I hate that we won't have another Hoosier out here to beat up on these Westerners, but I will fight the good fight for you. @rangerx I need to catch up with you while you are out here. Missed you last year. Looking forward to seeing all you guys again!
customgolfcenter Well, it is that crazy snowbird season........
Never too early to discuss courses...
A return to Wildfire was mentioned. Its also been a few years since we've been to Grayhawk. Two courses at Verrado now may make that a worthy drive. The options are numerous!
As for early rounds, the TPC double has quickly become a tradition. Many want another shot at Wickenburg Ranch as well.
Keep em coming!
Happy to play all of those great courses.
How bout an innexpensive return to Papago? Maybe Tuesday afternoon....close to the airport ....did i mention I arrive Tuesday around noon 🙂
Verrado says both courses will be open. That makes the drive worth it I think. Any objections?
I’m good with both Verrado Courses
In for Verrado. a vote for Wickenburg also.
customgolfcenter For $31 dollars more I can get a year membership at my local course.
Wildfire, Grayhawk and Verrado all seem like good choices for tournament rounds as they offer 36 for those who want that although I'm sure people would be happy to play Wickenberg twice.
Weirfan Wildfire has 2 great courses. Love the Faldo course 👍
If an hour and a half drive does not kill anyone, we could probably get a round up in Payson at The Rim or Chapparal Pines. Might be a stretch, but thought I would throw it out there.
they both look fantastic but from the website look to be private - is public play allowed ?
Jack knows someone......... 🙂 They are beautiful courses, we may move there in a few years.
