Offering something new just for the sake of "new" doesn't seem sustainable for component manufacturers. There's got to be an enormous investment just to make the product available, and some of those sales are cannibalizing the other recent models that are just as good that also had enormous investments in development as well.
I'd rather buy from a company with a few (at most) options and a product cycle that reflects genuine advances in design or technology. Nothing new this year could just as well be a testament that the most recent product is still the best tech available. Works for me.
