Im far from a coffee snob but do enjoy a cup every morning , sometimes two. I will frequent a local chain 2 -3 days a week and make it at home the rest. I have a drip ( Cuisanart) , Tassimo, French Press and stove top perculator. The best tasting coffee in order is Perc, French Press.....big gap then drip then pods . Pods offer convenience but the coffee via Keurig or others is so so at best. My sil has a Nespresso machine, it produces marginally better than Keurig or Tassimo
Of course the quality of your coffee is also based on the beans you use and how freshly ground they are, how you store them etc. Dont discount the water used also. Chlorinated tap water doesnt make for the best .
As for Drip makers longeavity. I have a good one and they last me 10 years. Dont forget to descale whatever machine you use somewhat regularly, depending on the hardness of the water you have. Recently descaled my Tassimo and it made an improvement to flavour, but still not a fan of the machines that use pods. But thats me
When i have time its Perc coffee all the time. This is a staple at the cottage or on fishing trips etc
