I enjoy playing with my current playing partners. All of them move along, are quiet on the tee and greens, play by the rules and will help you look for your ball if you go into a hazard. I also enjoyed the group prior to my current group, but they wanted to started later in the day and it just doesn't work for me. I actually wanted to play earlier so I dropped out when an opening was available with my current group. We are all still great friends and once in a while I will play with them.
Playing partners that I did not play with for long. First, cheaters, all of them, whether in a game or not. Now if they are quiet and don't talk about their score, I am fine, but that has not been my experience. I have played for a very short period of time with a few guys that brag about their low round on the 19th hole, etc., when in fact they incurred numerous penalties in the course of the round. Next, someone always wanting to give advise during a round, and especially when they want 2 or 3 strokes a side. I don't mind someone mentioning something to me after the last putt on 18. I am ok with someone who talks if they know when to be quiet during a round. Tolerable to a point, but still irks me, someone that can't keep their emotions in control with a poor shot or poor round. Slow player and/or someone that does not watch where his ball goes in the rough or where it enters a hazard, but then wants a bunch of time to look for his ball when it is lost.
