That's some awful weather...holy crap. I hated it the other day working outside and it was zero to -5....guess I had it easy.
Neighbor 2 doors down has a party every year that we go to. Food, drinks, whatever game is on TV. Good crowd, 20-30 people. All their friends and maybe just another family from the neighborhood. Its ok, we know a lot of their friends from that party every year.

Just cleared the deck of snow. Just need a hot tub, some adult beverages, and a little disco, to begin the New Years Eve party tomorrow night.

I guess I'll have to settle for the disco music and drinks.... Hot tub ain't happening. Not this year anyway. Maybe next year!

Usual routine is to be in bed early.
This year, my oldest kid wanted to whoop it up, so a party was planned for here this year.

We don't do anything different for New Year, just another day and night.

It's Sunday so, drop in hockey! Wife works that night, I work the next morning. Usually do some house cleaning, surfing the webs, maybe playing a little bass. Probably will not see midnight. As someone else said, it's just another day to me. Although, it is an especially bad night to be on the road, so I do not brave the roads on this night. Not much good reason to be out when it is below zero either.

Yup, -22 here this morning with -40 wind chill. High today is supposed to reach all the way to -11. Tonight and tomorrow are expected to be about the same. We have been lucky though as the wind has only been around 10 MPH.

84 year old MIL broke her foot a few weeks ago and has caregivers in the morning and evenings to help her do things and get around. They cost double on Christmas and New Years Day, so we are going to get her and bring her to our house tomorrow morning, which means no big deal for us tonight. Low key and maybe (probably not) in bed before midnight.

We will be smoking and reverse searing a nice prime tri-tip roast for dinner and pairing that with some potato's (not sure of prep yet, maybe twice baked with cold smoked cheddar in it).

I would love to get out to the local executive 18 today and get one last round in. Not sure yet if my wife is up for that or not.

I would have been in the doghouse if I would have gone out to play without her... That's what I meant when I said I wasn't sure if she was up for it or not.
We ended up going out and walking 9 holes together. I didn't even know the back 9 is still not re-opened after the flooding they had last year, so it is only 9 no matter what unless you go around twice. We had fun and got some sun (it was hazy, but sunny). Didn't keep score, but did manage a birdie and several par's.

Well, we’ll be ringing in the new year at the house of one of our church elders with about 20 or 30 other folks. I’m not much for socializing unless it’s part of some other activity like golf, but I’m sure there will be lots of good food and good people there.

Had to go into work today for a system update. Finally leaving after 8 hours. Going to head home and enjoy some Lagunitas Brown Shugga! Then going to have a house full of kids as my daughter's friends are all coming over.

Just had a couple of beers with my ex-brother-in law and my nephew who I have'nt seen in close to 30 years from my exes side.
My BIL looks like Ozzie and we could not have had a better meeting, And to see my nephew by marriage again was a shock.
Got a feeling that 2018 is going to be a good year, as we were always close. Just not as close with the ex.
