Hard to argue that Commissioner Whan hasn't been a godsend to the LPGA Tour, especially considering where they were just prior to him taking over back in late 2009. I can remember when the LPGA tournament schedule didn't have but maybe 23 or 24 events, and most were overseas.
As of 2018 - there are 34 tournaments on schedule, and roughly half are hosted in the US. Progress has definitely been made. Whan has done a phenomenal job, especially in this day and age when sports commissioners aren't exactly looked upon with much high regard.
He's certainly served the LPGA well in his 8 years at the helm.
