sdandrea1 thank goodness I still have the bomb and (pitch out) gouge strategy going for me. I’m as piss poor as it comes to course managementas it comes. Mostly, I don’t find that to be fun.
Maybe it all got spoiled for me as I had a real jerk of a golf “coach” through high school, who offered nothing more than a bus driver and a screaming when we didn’t finish on time. He was the one who gave me crap for not playing a 7 iron off the tee on a particular par 4 that plagued me with OB right. He wasn’t wrong, he was just a dick about it. Anyway, I wanted to defy him more than score and to this day, I still enjoy the reward more than the risk management. The other possibility is being hard headed and I like to hit the driver because I do it better than most people and I like to be special, I don’t know.
