If anyone here is in a 90+ score zone , like me , this thread is for us.
Had a good nine, for me, today at Timberton GC in Hattiesburg Mississippi which is near my house . Beautiful late fall day in deep Dixie, partly sunny , mid 60s, low wind, low humidity , perfect golfing conditions. Greens, fairways in great shape, brumuda rough is going dormant so marginally errant balls little easier to locate . Off course balls hopeless to locate in leaves, bring spares.
Used up last of my Christmas gift card . 10 over final score, even though I had 3 penalties (2 lost into leaves and creek, one unplayable) & one 3 putt on #1. Thit. , 17 putts total . Birdied no. 6 parred 4. Six of the nine tee shots were FW or green hits. Doubled first hole with a darn 3 putt and blew up on #9 with triple. Couple of nice center fw 213, 225 yd drives too. Best lately . Obviously worst Stat is GIR only three made, two of which were very short parr 3s. More than an 8 iron approach is a guaranteed miss just off green and an extra stroke added. Chipping/ putting needs improvement too, but execution on longer approaches is also killing my scores.
Goal for the year was to drop from high- mid 90s to low 90s high 80s. Like 50s songs " keep a knocking , but you can't come in", or "Ain't that a shame"
