puttnfool First, not too many people have a compressor at the range to blow grips on and off. More importantly, the goal isn't to find a proper size grip, which quickly swapping grips in and out helps you achieve, but rather you are trying to establish shaft length. With a split grip, you have split the grip lengthwise and cut off the grip cap so that you can slide it up and down the shaft to different lengths. If you simply blew the grip off, you would have to do so, then cut off a bit of shaft, and the blow the grip back on. Then, once you find that you have cut the shaft too short, your SOL.
