Nordique exactly. As far as he's concerned, 3cpm is negligible. The question here that everyone doesn't wanna answer (or even admit is the key to it all) is what is your threshold. I say that everyone's swing, desired feel, etc. is different and therefore everyone will not have the same threshold for what is a negligible "spine".

Treshold for me is anything over 4 CPMs. But let me ask you what your treshold is for:

1) shaft weight
2)grip weight
3) lie angles
4) club length
5) swingweight/MOI
5) bounce angles
6)face angles
7) Balance point
8) Head MOI
9) Shaft flex
10) Shaft profile

Or you don't bother?

2)grip weight [I prefer grips in the high 40's, but have never tried much heavier grips so I dunno]

4) club length [38" 5i, could probably tolerate 1/2" either way if the lie corresponded to length]
5) swingweight/MOI [I used to prefer a D4-D5 or so in the irons, but I think I'm trending to a lower swingweight in my "old" age]

6)face angles [prefer square to open on driver, square on fairways]

Got ‘em glued up, will put on grips in the morning. Heads and shafts came out within 1 gram of each other. Built them to 42”. If the ball flights come out straight and flex seems good, I may shorten them to 41.75” later on. I also installed that 60M4 Black Tie Shaft on a Taylormade M2 adaptor to try on my 2017 M2 driver. If I don’t like it on the M2 then I’ll try it on my R1. I set it up at 45”, and like the Pinhawks, if everything goes good I’ll cut it down to my normal length of 44.5”. It may be a few weeks before I can try them out as old man winter has finally shown his face here in southeast Missouri.........

My best two finds of the year where the PInhawk SLF's and the TM M2 driver. I recently built Pinhawk SLF 3 & 5 for a bud and he really likes them. He is my usual cart mate and has been hitting mine all summer. I built his with the cheapo Acer Velocity shafts flex matched and spine aligned NBP to target.

Do you have the ‘16 or ‘17 model? Friend of mine has the ‘16 model and I hit it better AND like the feel of it better than my ‘17. I’ve tried a couple different shafts in it and I still hit it no better than my R1. Actually, I’m getting better distance with the R1. I hope this Black Tie remedies that. If not, I’ll have another shaft for the R1.
