AccuFLEX Creation 65 or Matrix Black Tie 60M4?

Looking at getting the Pinhawk SL fairway woods, and eyeballing these 2 shafts. My driver swing speed is typically around 90-95, mid release. I’m looking at 41.5” build lengths. Opinions?

My first gut feeling is the Accuflex will be too stiff for you and maybe too light for a fw wood as well.
No clue on the Matrix.

I found the R flex plays stiff and my SS was higher than yours at the time.

Be sure to tip trim these for the appropriate head weight which is probably going to be for a 5 wood on most trim charts. At your swing speed if in between on the chart tip it on the soft side.

First gut feeling says NO.
Too heavy for a FW.
Maybe a 7W at 40in or less but nothing over that length.

Fairway woods used to have heavy steel shafts in them. I still have some old Wilson persimmons with TT Lites in them.

They might work for you, but I would not tip them more than an R flex.
My guess is Aaron has these on hand for the Pinhawks as not many carry .335 steel wood shafts anymore.

My biggest concern is how much of a shock will steel be to my joints, and how will the extra weight affect me at the end of a round. Truth be told, I really don’t use my fairways much on my home course.

I played TT Lite's in my fairways years ago and they did well. But as Spuzz mentioned I was younger then too.
After TT changed their biz model my local shop quite carrying them and I switched to Apollo. I always found the Apollos too be harsh no matter how I trimmed them. The best steel fairway shafts I have ever hit are the TT TX 90 which I still have in some rescue woods. I always hoped that FST would come out with a steel fairway shaft but I guess that isn't going to happen.

Jeff, these are top notch heads. Don't cheap out on the shafts. Just find the right fit.

Then maybe look at fw hybrids instead, with .370 hosel size (they are heavier in general), if you intend to play them at shorter lengths?
Then you can use lighter graphite shafts (many options)

Yeah, you’re right. I’ll just stick with the black ties in regular. I was concerned they would bring my already too high trajectory too low, but the lofts on those Pinhawks should offset that.

I struggle with fw lofts under 16*, so these Pinhawks with their higher lofts built to 41.5” should compliment my SL irons well.

Bingo. I have a negative angle of attack and haven't been able to hit a 3 wood in many years. I have resorted to 5 woods and a few 4 woods. The Pinhawk SL launches just fine for me. BTW, I am not a VG employee and Aaron is not my nephew. I like promoting quality products that work for me and from good companies.

I have tried those and might have that head in my parts bin. You aren't going to get the distance or trajectory you will get with the Pinhawk SL fairways and IMHO are harder to hit.
