Typhoon G425 sounded like a Cobra FSpeed driver . Yucky to me.

G425 was the worst sounding IMO. Horrible.

Regarding the sound of a club. The consensus seems to be sound and feel are the same. Disagree, at least not for me. A well struck shot could sound loud or have no sound at all for me.

The Cobra F Speeds had a an aluminum baseball bat sound. Feel though was excellent. Solid strike felt like butter to me.

My TM SIM Max OS irons when hit solid have no sound to me, but feel like butter. Feels like I hit nothing. Maybe a ping pong ball.

Anyway, sound of a club is not a factor for me. Performance trumps all. Looks doesn’t matter to me either. Amazes me that something that has zero factor in performance is such a non starter for many golfers.

To each their own. 😏

Agreed. I had the old F Speed Offset in my bag for an entire season based on feel and performance. Sounded horrible.

For me the G425 sounded bad and performed no better than it's predecessor.

Another thing that cracks me up is golfers who won’t play a club because of the way it looks. There was a guy who played in our senior quota group who had a bag full of the latest Titleist clubs.

He was ~ a 25 handicapper and sliced like a bastid. I was playing a Cobra at the time and he took a look at it and said, ‘I could never play a club with a closed face.’ 🙄 I said you moron, you should be falling in love with a closed face. Maybe you could keep your ball in the state of Florida. lol

Ok, I never said that, but wanted to. Had a Perfect Club for awhile. Very nondescript club. Short shaft, offset head and a dull silver color head. But it went straight. The moron with the bag full of Titleists should’ve been playing one of those as well. 😏

Oh, and he play Pro V1’s. lol. He was a playah. In his mind.

Oh I’m right there with him. There are clubs we all hate to look at and won’t play. Nobody here playing a Hammer Driver or VAS irons…. I had a few Integra drivers that were closed and oddly shaped. Not for me….cant look at that.

Yeah, the only reason I got the G425 was the larger head. A little more forgiveness. The G400 was something like 445 cc. The G425 goes a little higher for me. It’s 10.5 compared to 10 on the G400. They’re both very good drivers.

The 25 capper was playing clubs that looked good in his bag. But were detrimental to his game. Classic case of more ego than brains.

I did mean look at address, but it related to what he had in his bag as well. For him he played clubs that did not benefit him at all. He probably heard somewhere that the look of a closed face was bad.

He was clueless. He needed a closed face. Bottom line is he chose clubs that he thought looked good over how they performed. Again moronic.

In this case had he hit my Cobra with the closed face and loud sound he’d have hit it with less of a slice. But he went with cosmetics over functionality.

His game suffered because of his delusion. But his ego was intact.lol
