Yes, an A flex is a softer flex than an R flex.
The flex ( L, A , R, S, X ) is not indicated on the the Okato shafts. The CPM rating is listed which is the butt stiffness rating.
The TourSwing shafts typically have a stiffer tip vs what you would find merely measuring the butt frequency.. This is even more evident with the Motega than the previous shaft, the Okato. In Tim's words, the motega, the stiffest stiff shaft he had produced, yet remained smooth.
This is why I love the Motega so much. A softer feel yet more control due to a stiffer tip.
Therefore, all the the Motega shafts I purchased had a softer / lower butt CPM rating ie: R, R- or A+ (Tim Chopp started putting the flex rating on the Motega, plus the CPM rating) on the butt shaft tag.
Killer shafts. Match them with an Infringer especially......or an Xpolde and boom! And yes, I did hold back several Motegas, an Infringer and Xplode for that reason......................at least for the time being. Sad.
I hope this helps.
