I might be the only one posting in this thread, but have at it of you like!

Rented a bucket of range balls to try to discover why I only hit one halfway decent drive yesterday .

Changed back to baseball grip from overlap and gripped down a little more. Used a base ball swing . Started hitting center of club face, YES!
Take it to the course? "Hope springs eternal "

Bought two pair of New Balance golf shoes, for what I could've bought one pair of high-end FootJoy golf shoes.

Tried them on last night and they feel great.

Bought my first pair of sneaker-type NB golf shoes (with cleats) last summer and was impressed with both comfort and durability. Although the sneaker-type isn't waterproof, they've kept my feet dry no less.

If you're a fan of comfortable, sneaker-like golf shoes, New Balance might be something to consider.

Both pair were under 80 bucks each. Bought them on Amazon.

johnnydoom give the Dynacraft Dual Milled a look. I got mine from ValueGolf and put them together with KBS shafts and Winn grips. Love it. I'm sure you could get it a bit cheaper if you go with a more reasonably priced shaft. I just wanted to try out the KBS.

Thanks for the suggestion and recommendation puttnfool and ode. That is a very nice looking head, and I do like to cobble my own. Not too worried about partial shots as I carry four wedges unless I really think I'll need a 3 hybrid/iron for some reason. It's the 90 - 110 yard distances I'm getting killed on right now. For some reason I just don't get along with my current 52 deg. and really miss my old sand wedge that that I wore the face out on - it was automatic from 100 yards.

I can't remember either the brand or model now! I bought it from a bargain bin around 1986 (when I started golfing - I didn't start until I was about 24) and used it for everything from 100 yards in for 20 years. Being only a recreational player that at best averaged 20 total 18 hole rounds per year, and have had many years much below that, it is the only club I've ever put noticeable wear on to the point where the face was dishing. I replaced it with one of the SMT Durometer wedges with the same specified loft, and I like that club a great deal, but either the actual loft and/or spin characteristics are different and it is only good for 85 yards max. Once I accepted that I had a 35 - 40 yard gap between SW and PW after that change, I purchase a 52 degree gap wedge. It gives me 100 yards when I hit it right, but it is rare that I do while I'm fine with the PW, SW, and LW on full shots.

Not a golf club but I purchasesd a radio for my golf cart. I know, I know... radios don't belong on the golf course (or in a golf cart that's used on a golf course). I mostly use it on Sunday's when I play and listen to the 1st half of the Vikings game before going home to watch the 2nd half when they start playing at noon CST. I have also found while playing alone that having music playing while playing golf somehow helps me settle in to a good swing tempo. I didn't buy it for that but it's a good side effect.

mulegolf I read somewhere that Jack Nicklaus said he played best when he played to the tune of "Raindrops keep falling on my head" stuck in his head. Might be worth a try.

Had a few myself, 7 and 8.5 degree. Very springy feeling to them. Had a ust proforce LD2 in one, HOF Sadlowski in one too.

Still have an 8.5 degree head collecting dust on a shelf.
