2nd Swing Ratings / experience

Gentlemen, I'm looking at a club from 2nd Swing.....online.

Anyone have any experience with the accuracy of their online ratings?

The club is rated 9.5, they say is pristine, and it looks that way. In fact, the sole still looks like it might have the OEM plastic on it.

I suspect it will be mint or better, maybe new. They can't afford to have people upset and feeling as though they were cheated, so 2nd swing is typically conservative with their ratings. I'd expect anything 8.5+ to be virtually new.

Just bought a 913D2 driver that was a 9 rating. Came in purdy good shape. Face and sole were flawless but crown had a glue residue and a few handling marks. I am OCD about dings in the crown, so I got it to a point I could tolerate with some car polish / scratch remover combo. For the price (less than $100) I shouldn't be bitching but just thought it should be noted.

my experience is that 2nd swing is one of the last I would buy from. I think they are overpriced and conditions are suspect. If you are like me (I completely clean my clubs, bags, and shoes after every round) I would look elsewhere.

Bought a hybrid from second swing listed as "mint" and it was brand new. Three months ago. I think you'll be okay based on my transaction/history. But, FWIW - first-time customer.

Great advertised price, so the proof is on a Fed Ex truck.

I agree Steve, they used to be way overpriced. I just bought a fairway wood at a very fair price, and the rating was accurate.

They used to have a store here and I liked them. I could walk in, inspect the inventory up close and dicker on price. Online shopping with them es no bueno. Maybe they are improving.

Update.
Club arrived yesterday.
The condition was better than the actual picture and easily met my exceptionally picky standards for club condition.

The interesting part, I have an email from 2nd Swing stating I have a second Fed Ex package coming today.

Don't know what the heck that could be.

As stated above, I received a second package from 2nd Swing.

Surprise!!! The exact same club and head cover I received 2 days before.

There is no second billing on my credit card so a 2 for 1 deal! That's a first.

I called them and of course they had no explanation plus surprised and appreciative I fessed up. Someone is looking for their club and not happy about it.

Club was returned today.

Good for you Pot. I got a box from Wishon once that had a 919th driver head, 2 wedge heads and some grips. It came with the stuff I had ordered, but it wasn't mine. Called them and they sent me a prepaid label to ship it to the right guy. The little devil on my left shoulder kept saying "keep it", but the conscience won out. 😇

I recently purchased two fairway woods from 2nd Swing. The quality of one was as rated. On the other, the quality was higher then the rating.

Never dealt with 2nd Swing online. My fav is Callaway pre-owned. Everything I have gotten from them is almost like new even their mid rated items. They often have 30 day free trial and I have never had an issue with returns. Global is ok but I have read to always don't get anything lower than the top two ratings.

Tough to beat Callaway pre-owned. Bought several clubs from them over the years and they always seem to be better-conditioned than the actual listed condition.

But 2nd-swing is also very good. I would definitely recommend them, based on my recent transaction.
