Tomorrow we're having our 3rd annual USA vs. Canada Match at my home course here in Florida. The format will be 2 man team best ball (net score). Shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. with my partner and I starting on #18. $20.00 entry fee with winning country getting Pro Shop credits. Followed by either a Fish and Chips or Hamburger and Fries lunch. USA is 2 and 0. They encourage everyone to wear clothing that represents your country, meaning I'll be dressed like a Republican (which I'm not btw) even down to an American flag ball marker. Looking forward to it, should be lots of fun.............

Well, USA is now 3 and 0 with a 30 to 18 win over Canada. Me and my partner lost our match 2 and 1. We were never up and down by 3 early, but clawed back to even with 3 holes to go. We actually should've been up one with 3 to play. We both had wedges in our hands for our second shots (par 4) with one of our opponents out of the hole and the other hitting his tee shot in the drink. We ended up halving the hole.

We had a big turnout with 92 players. A great time was had by all. When the head Pro announced the results and thanked everyone for participating, one of the Canadians yelled out, "how about some lessons for the Canadians."

Fun, fun, fun..............

That sounds like a fun event. Glad it went well. Sounds like you had a good match.

Sounds like the fix was in! 😉

Many of the Canadians are Snow Birds who are members (here all winter). One of our opponents in our match was a 6 capper and we played off him. Not enough of his skill level on the Canadian side though.
