  • oobgolf shuts down-merges into SkyGolf 360 (SkyCaddie)

When FGI quit providing the score and stats tracking service, I looked for another free alternative. Someone on the old site mentioned oobgolf and I registered but never used the program or looked at their forums. They did notify me yesterday, via the email below, that they too no longer are in business (their website redirects to SkyGolf) and the only options are "pay to use". I guess if I was a SkyCaddie user then this would have value to me and the starting annual membership of $20 isn't too bad. One nice touch is all of your oobgolf records can be uploaded to SkyGolf 360 so you don't lose your data and have to start over. Just an FYI.

Looks like it might be worth checking out. Not sure if there's a joining fee, however.

You sir, are the man! I wonder if this site is new as I spent some time looking around interwebs a couple of years ago for something like this. And we had a member ask about a 'free' handicap service that mirrored GHIN a couple of weeks ago. This service has it along with some other cool features. Nice.

Yeah, but like I said - not sure about the joining fee. Or their course listing, which is another aspect that is definitely important.

Looked like their most recent blog post was back in March 2017... So not sure how diligent they are keeping up with things. But... might be worth joining just to see if it's something that might work for you, since it is being advertised as "free." Whatever that entails is anyone's best guess.

Might be an option though for those looking for something a little more detailed.

    Here's the mission statement:
Provide a free online golf score keeping and stat tracking tool that will provide the golfer an in-depth analysis of his or her golf handicap and skills. Enabling you to pin point areas of your game to work on.

There is a donation link on the home page.

Lots of courses listed. If you want GPS for a course you can map and upload to the website.
