GLFTPS Shot a 72 today on a par 71 6500 yard course. Not my first time but it was my first tome at 72. Geezer golf!
DC300 GLFTPS awesome! My only chance is going to be around age 42 and I'm looking at it for 9 holes, I'm impressed!
letthebigdogshunt GLFTPS If I was 84 I shot my age yesterday. Started out with a 37, but totally lost my tempo and concentration so I limped in with a 47 on the back nine. Turn 75 on Monday so it will one stroke easier then. Nice playing GLFTPS. I have not gone that low since I shot a 71 when I was 69.
ZWExton What % of golfers do we think ever break 80 in their lives on a legitimate golf course? It has to be way under 1%, right? Doing it at 72, and shooting a freakin' 72 is an amazing achievement. Great work.
kchacker ZWExton Break 80? Ever? Interesting question. Here's an article that says 2%: http://www.dispatch.com/content/stories/sports/2013/08/13/rob-oller-column-breaking-80-puts-him-in-golfs-top-2-percent.html Other articles place the number much higher, but also say golfers are likely deflating their scores with gimmes, improved lies, no OB, etc. But to the original topic of shooting your age, ever - I'd have to put that at less than 0.1%. Incredible shooting. I got within 30 strokes this year. Feel like I'm almost there. 🙂
potbunker Now THAT IS impressive! Way to go! My bet is you are also physically fit, besides being a great golfer. To me, this is the ultimate accomplishment anyone could obtain in golf.
puttnfool Yeah, I'd be happy with my age for 9 holes at this point. Even better if I can do it before I turn 41 next month.
