jsippy73 One thing about the Toyota is they make you get the highest price vehicle to get what should be standard on them.
Both Toyota and Honda seem to go by this theory (almost surprised they don't have crank windows on their lower trims), which is why I ended up going with a CX-5 last year. At the mid-tier the Mazda offered everything I really wanted for the interior conveniences, both Toyota and Honda make you go up to their higher tiers to get an interior that compares to the CX-5 in the lower/mid tier. The Preferred trim level in the '25 CX-5 also does not have cylinder deactivation or the terrible feature of turning off the engine when you are stopped, which was a bonus selling point for me.
As far as the Corolla Cross goes, I rented a gas one a few years back (lower tier model). Wasn't bad, but nothing that really made me want to go out and buy one. As with most Toyotas, probably good for 250K without and major issues. Having been in my Mazda for about a year, no way I would trade it out for the Cross I drove.
