Basketball was my sport. Don’t watch much of it anymore. Have watched some of the finals (1st half mostly). They seem to travel at will now.

When did that change? Not sure what it was in my day. Maybe a step in a half? Now 3 steps and possibly more.

They never call it now. And another thing I’ve noticed over the years, palming is no longer a thing.

And I remember when hand checking was barely tolerated. Now mugging goes uncalled.

I loved playing basketball and played in HS although I was just ok at it. It was step and a half in my day and they called it if you took more. And no you could not carry the ball either. It was definitely a LOT stricter and I'm not exactly sure when it changed.

My father was a huge Celtics fan and he would only let me stay up late to watch a game. I loved watching pro games back from around 1975 to 1985 or so. I sort of lost interest in the 90's I guess. I hated that big men could just back a defender down in the paint and players could take 3-4 steps to the hoop. I've really only watched NCAA games since and I still love March Madness.

KCee. There's a great video that comes up in my feed , pretty sure it's Bob McAdoo, anyway he gets a pass and goes up to shoot and they call traveling, then they show James Harden and his 3 step, step back 3 and it's ridiculous.
And then they call the old guys plumbers. " They had no handle" , well yea if you have to keep your hand on top of the ball it's hard to be too creative.

I watched the entire game and I didn't see one-sided officiating, with the one exception of the cheap shot Wemby put on Brunsen. That was a flagrant miss 2.

Huh? Whatever are you talking about? Wednesday night's game... Knicks 20-28 from the foul line , Spurs 17-20. So no cheating by the refs this time? 21 personal fouls for each team. Is cheating always one-sided or does it just apply when the team one is rooting for loses?

Did you watch the game? the 2 early fouls on KAT were BS and they changed the tone of the game.

The second half was more balanced. Wemby had an egregious travel that was ignored, but whatever. the Spurs lost it on their own. It'll be interesting to see how they respond Saturday, and if this has a longer term effect on them (see Anderson, Nick, and the Orlando Magic's aborted dynasty)
