sdandrea1 I did the switch years ago for pain management. The transition was not easy. It takes time.
Same here, shoulder injurie made me switch to lightweight steel (-20gr) and it took me 6 months to get used to them.
Spuzz Lead tape and tip weights help, imo.
Taki27 try to throw a back weight in them.
Or do both :
Years back I experimented with a homemade tourlock system on my driver : open end grip and inserted backweights in 4gr increments, with and without lead tape to the head to adjust the swingweight. I got the best feel with the 12 and 16 gr backweights and lead tape. This was just 'on feel' switching back and forth between different set-ups.
From my mathematical model linking swingweight and MOI around the elbow joint this rule poped up : for every 10gr you go lighter in the shaft build them ¾ swingweight point heavier (tip weight or longer club) and get them back to normal swingweight by adding backweight.
I recently did this to "elbow-MOI" match my graphite clubs in the bag (62gr shafts) with my irons (105gr shafts): about 6-7gr lead tape to go from C9.7 to D3.0 and 12gr butt weight to bring them back just under D0. It does make a difference : I'm more consistent with the hybrid and fairway wood and gained some distance with the driver.
