professor In our American past, once the "critical mass" of those "protesting" or "rallying", or call it what you will - once that gets to 3.5% of the population - 12 million - studies make that attribution as significant and sufficient, as evidenced by the Civil Rights Movement (not that all here seem to support civil rights).
Currently, the estimate for yesterday was 7 million with there being a 2 million increase from the previous No Kings.
Knew about the 3.5% / 12 million thing as well. The estimate last I saw was ~ 8 million. Been to all 4 of them. The first was called Hands Off. No record on that one that I saw.
The first No Kings had ~ 5 million. The second had ~ 7 million and this one looks like it exceeded that.
