I think that Pretti made a bad decision to carry that day. He had no obvious reason to carry but yes, he was legally carrying. He was on the scene and getting in the mix with his phone out and strapped with a gun. Pointing a phone in the face of these goons just agitates them and they're ARMED. Why? Just to show them he can? I don't believe for a second he was there there as a "domestic terrorist", but rather making a political statement "I'm armed because it's legal".
That being said, the armed moronic thugs with badges could not have handled that any worse. It was a melee of a clusterfuck taking him down. He was disarmed (on camera), and then somebody panicked and all the Barney Fifes emptied their clips. At least the video I saw indicates that.
It should not have happened. Given the current state of ICE trainees in the field, I would never show up to protest carrying a weapon. Those morons seem to be itching for a fight.
Pretti didn't "ask for it", but he might be alive today had he not been carrying.
