Yes we know Trump is lawless and the Republican majority Supreme Court has given Trump wide latitude.
Yeah, we’ll see. If the Dems win the House oversight will take place at the committee level. Subpoena power etc.. Currently there is no true oversight with Republicans in the majority. Whether the administration complies we shall see.
And maybe more importantly Trump will be a true lame duck. He won’t be able to pass anything. Not that he cares about much except tax cuts for the rich and mass deportations. lol
This Republican congress hasn’t passed any meaningful legislation anyway. And we know in the Senate it takes 60 votes for closure (end debate) and to pass legislation.
There are exceptions to this where a majority vote will do. Budget reconciliation is one. Judicial nominees is another where majority 51 votes apply.
But so far Republican Senate majority leader John Thune has rebuffed Trump’s pressuring him to end the filibuster. He knows once that nuclear option is passed it can work both ways.
One other thing. Executive orders aren’t laws. If the Supreme Court doesn’t strike them down as unconstitutional then the next president can end them.
And again, Trump will try to steal the midterm elections. He’ll resort to anything. Heard today he may try and put Ice agents at the polls like he’s doing at the airports.
Someone needs to tell him it’s illegal to put armed federal agents at polling places. This goes back to 1865. Any type of voter intimidation is illegal.
Also, the constitution says that states govern their elections and not the federal government. The moron said he wanted to nationize the elections. Put them under the federal government’s authority.
Again, he tried once to steal the election. He will try again. Oh and the buffoon said that there shouldn’t be mail in voting. Should be illegal. Trump voted by mail. 🙄
