Electric pressure washers.

Thinking about getting one. Have a nice Honda one that I use a lot. Worried about starting it all summer. Shoulder replacement on right shoulder and left not feeling that great either. Any recommendations?

Quite a bit in summer. Have long blacktop driveway. Use it on cars, under mower deck, vinyl deck railings, house siding on north end mainly, etc.

What do you use it for? Home Depot might have some Ryobi 1900 psi ones on clearance. Or even Walmart might be clearing some out.

I have Karcher Gas 2500 psi with a Honda engine, share it with a neighbor. We bought it 25 years ago and it still starts on the first pull.

So anyway… At the golf course we had a Ryobi 1900 psi for 2 years that was used all day from March - October or November 10-14 hours a day. We used it to wash all the mowers and golf carts. It was awesome. They left it out too long and it froze and was no good. The following year they bought a Craftsman that was the biggest POS.. leaked from day 1. Eventually we bought another Ryobi last year. I’ll be firing it back up in a few weeks for carts.

It is so good, 3 years ago I bought one myself to hang under my deck to wash the dogs cement kennel area and the deck. Worked great
On the white pvc railings as well. This year I bought a longer hose that goes to the gun. Highly recommend this one

Also, the one at the golf course stayed outside all year. Mine at home I hung under the deck but had a plastic bag over it. I take it in for the winter.

I have a Hart 2000psi that works very well for cleaning my sidewalk and driveway. Good for car washes as well.

I know a guy who has bought one at harbor freight, along with the two year warranty. Darn thing dies about 18 months after he takes it home. Harbor freight takes the dead one and gives him a new one every time.
I have a gas one that i use, although I believe its time I replaced the pressure relief, its getting sticky.

My Gas Honda used to have that problem. We threw a gob of grease on it once and it’s been fine ever since. It was a known issue back then with the Karcher/ Honda

I've had a cheap Sun Joe electric for a # of years now and it works well. I mainly use it on the house, patio and cars.

My washer is a Karcher with 5 HP Honda engine. Had it for at least 15 years. Works great. Don't like the idea of now dealing with a cord on top of 2 hoses. When weather warms up will try starting it with left arm and see how it goes.

jsippy73 Sounds like my model Karcher. I can start it with the other hand. Didn’t need a brisk pull.

jsippy73 at the course there is an electric pressure washer. It is mostly used on the equipment to clean off the nastiness from time to time. As long as you have the supply hose and cord as close to where you are working, you're good. Works well if you have an outlet near the water spigot.

I have a Simpson machine with the Honda 5hp engine. I previously had a Honda engine with an automatic choke and it was a bitch to start. The current model (manual choke) has been good to me for 5 years now. Starts right up after sitting for months.

I have a Generac gas power washer and I like it a lot. It has adjustable pressure settings. Four settings from 2000 psi up to 3100 psi. It's lasted longer than any other washer I've owned. All the others, which all had the Honda engine had the pumps go bad. That great Honda engine isn't much good without a pump. I found that the general homeowners power
washers almost all have pumps that are designed to last for only 40-50 hrs. of use.

I bought a Westinghouse electric power washer a number of years ago. My prior washer was a gas-powered Karcher.

The little Westinghouse works great, and it is MUCH more compact, lighter, and easier to use. Can't say enough good things about it. The power may be slightly lower than my old gas-powered machine, but not by much. It's quieter, too. A no-brainer for me.

They are all junk. Advertised 2,000 psi is more like 700 at most. The pumps and motors are all made in the same factory in China. You'll struggle to remove anything more than a dusting of pollen.

simpleflat How about I call bullshit. I'll have you know, that was much more than pollen on my drive and walk. I've been here 20 years, IT'S NEVER BEEN CLEANED. Just to clarify.

Yeah I agree. I have one of the harbor freight ones going on 5 years. It’s done a good job on deck, driveway, and fence that were pretty ugly. I’m not buying another gas one. Those 2 gas ones I had pissed me off to no end

LBlack14 It's more about gallons per minute than PSI. Consumer grade electric pressure washer GPM are about half of gas models. And about 10x less than commercial gas powered machines. They work, but it takes much longer to complete the job with moderate PSI and low flow rate. Additionally, they are often hooked up to low flow spigots with small diameter hoses. Same reason why a pancake air compressor from Harbor Fraught has no trouble running a brad nailer but won't run a paint sprayer for more than a few seconds. I guess it's not a big deal when you're retired and have unlimited time to clean the driveway or deck railings.

Will still have my Honda powered Karcher. Had it at least 15 years. Main jet was ever so slightly plugged. Will start on first pull when my gaskets get here.

Got the gaskets. Hope to have time to install over the weekend, but hate to heat up the garage just for that. It can wait.
