azgreg I'm finding that I'm far more likely to lose strokes to par off the tee than hitting a longer club into greens. Now I know that if I can get the driver working I can be even better and I'm working on that.
Being able to still create decent distance can be a curse when your accuracy is off. I'm still trying to hammer this into my grandson's (knuckle) head. He loses too many strokes off the tee box and yet he's obsessed with chasing club speed numbers π. One day I'm going to take him out sans driver and make him manage the course for a score rather than the distance contest. Problem is, his Dad is the same way. Gets more fun out of killing it than scoring. Jesse is playing HS golf, tho.
Age and loss of flexibility has made my driver my favorite club.
You're "onto something" Gregππ. Get the driver sorted and you'll be even better.
