Most people miss greens in the wrong places. For example, if the pin is on the left front part of the green, most hackers will miss the green short and left, which leaves them short sided and makes an up and down par much more difficult. The better miss there is long and right.
In other words, most guys will take less club when the pin is on the front of the green, but it makes more sense to try to get long of the pin in that situation. Likewise, when the pin is near the back of the green, it makes more sense to be short of it, as the likelihood of an up and down is really bad if you are long and short-sided.
Even pros score considerably worse from short-sided positions. For hackers, being short-sided is even a bigger penalty.
Maybe I need to make a youtube channel, lol.
