north-bc I've had two repaired....one on each side. This was a long time ago (40 years or so), but
the surgery was easy, as was the recovery. In those days, you had to stay in the hospital overnight, but I think now they even do it as an out-patient procedure.
IIRC, I was off work for a couple of weeks, hobbled around for several days, but it was nothing to be concerned about. I would think today you'll go home the same day, have a brief convalescence, and be as good as new in short order. Your doctor will probably spell all of this out for you in detail when you see him.
