Hybrid Higher Loft than Iron

With modern iron lofts so jacked up, do any of you maintain good distance gaps with a hybrid that is a higher loft than the ascending iron number?

For example, (built one half inch longer) does your 5 hybrid at 26* hit further than your 6 iron at 24*?... could be same make of club or different.

I have been playing a 4 hybrid that is 23* and it beats the 6 iron, but I hit it so low that it almost seems natural I'd get more distance bc of the rollout.

I have always found the hybrid to go farther and higher. I mixed in the top flite tour scoring irons with my Adams idea hybrid iron set. With those my 8 iron carry is 145. I stopped there because my 6 hybrid carry is 175. I didn’t want too big of gap between my 7 iron and 6 hybrid carry

IMO about the fit. All else equal of course the hybrid will be longer. Longer play length, lighter shaft, lighter head, more upright lie, etc. that being said......I've seen people whiff with them too🤠

I build my hybrids with the same shaft, loft, and length as the irons they're replacing and I've found they go about 5 yards further.

It depends...... they're completely different designs and ball flight for me is not comparible. Once I know how far each type of club can hit a ball with my horrible swing, I build my gapping with that data. I have had a 7 hybrid AND a 7 iron in my bag, but they were 10 to 15 yards apart, so.......

A while back I played a 24° 7-wood (Super Concord) and a 24° 4-iron (Ping I3) that I tested side by side on trackman. They both go the same distance but the wood launches higher, the iron has more spin and stopping power. Now in my cart bag I have a 27° 9-wood (Super Concord) and a 27° 5-iron (Ping I-3) and in my carry bag I have a 27° 6-hybrid (Cleveland Black); they all play the same distance and the hydrid has a somewhat in between flight and spin. So I guess distance is all about loft, ball flight and spin is about clubhead design.
