ATT Sucks

I have had two ATT wireless lines for many years. One was for me and one for my wife's cell phone. Both are on ATT Prepaid no contract plans. I kept the number on my wife's phone active until her estate closed. I contacted ATT to deactivate on Monday. I had to do this by text chat since they do not have an online chatline for prepaid customers. They have always treated prepaid customers like bastard children and their website is awkward. Anyhoo, I do a long chat with ATT and several time I emphasized keeping my number active and deactivating the other. I wake up yesterday to find an email on my PC from ATT that confirmed that a number was no longer associated with my account. The dumb fuck deactivated the wrong number and my phone is locked out. Without the ability to contact them I had to drive across town to the ATT store. Fortunately, the store wasn't busy. The rep was a very nice young man. He works with ATT for an hour and tells he that ATT told him that once a number is deactivated it can't be reactivated. He said all they could do was to give me another number. I have had that number for probably 40 years. A new number would be a nightmare. Plus I had just made payment the day before. I had that number on autopay. He fights with it a bit more. He finally gets on his personal phone and tells me that he is going to try something else. He read the text on my phone and told me that he couldn't that ATT did what it did. He somehow got into ATT another way to try something else to get it fixed but had to do it texting from his personal phone which made it very slow. I guess India is a long way off. So, another two hours drags on but he finally gets it fixed. I did have to pay for another month with Visa and don't know if they will give me credit for the month that was prepaid but I was just thrilled that he got it fixed. I really appreciated the rep's efforts and thinking out of the box. I really doubt that the other reps in the store could have pulled this off. In general I think ATT sucks donkey balls. I really might think about moving to another carrier that might be a bit easier to work with. But I guess there is a chance that they all suck donkey balls. 😟

I believe that's t he accurate assessment. I've been working at not screaming "attendant" at my phone. It's embarrassing and it doesn't work.

"Chat" with on-line dialog boxes, connected to robots... it just doesn't matter. My favorite is then subsequently receiving an email the next day: "How'd we do? We truly care about customer service and would appreciate a few minutes of your time." Say what?! I just gave you hours yesterday!!!

ATT does suck. They are terrible. And expensive. My whole family moved on a few years ago. We all now have Mint Mobile. Highly recommend. Much cheaper. Company is better, too.

Hello, I've been on T-Mobile prepaid, for quite a few years now. Only a few places I don't have service in my daily travels. I think im paying $55 a month for i believe unlimited everything.

I’m looking at switching from AT&T to Cricket. It’s half the price and they use the same network as AT&T.

We have Spectrum. Two phones for $50 a month. Would be $28 a month, but my wife uses hers at work so needs unlimited. Otherwise it would be $14 a month for each phone for 1 Gig and home use doesn’t count towards the 1 Gig.

AT&T does suck. Unfortunately, my wife doesn't care and wants it anyway, so we use it. Can't really say I've had any problems with it other than overspending for services I barely care about for 26 years.

I was with AT&T a long time ago but left because of their customer service. We've been with Metro PCS (T-Mobile) for years now and it's been good. Four lines with unlimited talk, text, and data for $100 a month.

I have Verizon but work pays for it. My wife and youngest have Verizon too, but they complain because it's not unlimited. I tell them to shop around, but they are too lazy. My oldest just got US Mobile (I think) and she loves it as it's unlimited and still pretty cheap.....I love it because it's one less phone I am paying for.

Got 2 iPhones from Costco using Verizon as the carrier,those phone take for ever to
get paid off......all providers suck IMO,some more than others!🤬
