This is the second time in a month I’ve gone out and seen this from the middle of the fairway. Sorta sums up our whole clientele

I used to see something like this all the time when I played my home track in the late afternoon back in Utah.
One day I followed the culprit around for a few holes to see who it was, sure enough it was Nick.
He'd hit 4 or 5 balls from the middle of the fairway onto the green and just drive the cart away,
never bothered to fill his divots or fix his many pitch marks on the green.

BTW, Nick was the head pro......seems he and the super didn't get along very well.
And BOTH were two of the highest paid city employees!

Our fairways around here are mostly Zoysia. My unsderstanding is that you shouldn't replace the divots as they won't grow.

Spartan Probably true but it sounds really strange given that a common method of establishing zoysia is planting plugs of it. It does spread quickly though, so many courses will provide sand to fill and level the divot and just depend on the zoysia knitting back over it.
