There are lots of Drs. in this area that take new patients. We've never been turned down anywhere. Overall, the Drs. have been good and we're mostly satisfied. We did drop one Dr. who was notoriously late seeing you. Even his nurses made jokes about him.

johnnydoom BCBS insurance, which is reasonable solid although I still have out of pocket copay expenses.

My wife had this, BCBS. We never paid a dime OOP, for anything. And you just cannot imagine the cost of treatments she had for over 20 years.....3-6K every 6 weeks.

Used to have Medicare with a supplement of around $120 a month. Now have Aetna. Most precrpriprions are no co pay, some are under $10. Dr. Co-pays are $30, back surgery was $200 and a recent Pet-CT scan was $200. Seems to be pretty good to me. Have had it for about 3 years. Sometimes have to wait for an approval on a non emergency procedure. Complete boodwork including PSA was $30 if I remember right. It is way cheaper for me than Medicare with the needed supplements.
Going to have another procedure at Cleveland Clinic just don't know yet what it will be.

jsippy73 🤣..That's the company I just dropped. Was paying over 200/month & in return they were paying (seriously) less than $1 on most bills.
Had them for many years thanks to that fucking Obama. And was never sick a day, nor seen any doctors. But when it came time to see them, there goes all my money OOP, + all the 1000's they took from me. Plus any prescriptions were 100% OOP!

Don't understand that. My wife and i have Aetna and some friends. Nothing like that.
Go and set down with an Aetna agent, they have multiple plans but none are like what you had. They get their premiums from Medicare. So all those that are healthy and not really using it pays for others that are.

Quite frankly, I have a Medicare advantage plan. It costs me $130 per month. I've fun up major medical bills for cancer treatments, stem-cell transplant, surgeries - hernia, repaired failed-hernia, appendectomy, hideous blood infections, multiple days/nights in the hospital. Millions in bills. Most out of pocket per year is $3000.
I'm sorry that my healthcare system is so much better. I couldn't be more grateful.

I was using it. On 1 bill they paid $.38!! I had to pay $200+. Only 1 example, but all close to the same.
Think I had them maybe 15 years or so. Back to whenever that ~~asshole~~ dumbfuck was in office.

azgreg Because of when the Medicare program, as it is today, was 1st written down*.

A lot of people were carpenters back then and could easily make wooden teeth at hardly any cost. Same with the eyes, they could readily be replaced by marbles or forged glass balls, of a matching color.

*This is my understanding of the beginning.......the way the people in charge seem to administer it.
Very antiquated system, at best.

Par4QC I do, no issues. So far I'm 2 years into Medicare plus TRICARE For Life as supplement. So far I have not paid a copay yet. Now, to eliminate IRMAA, that is a big cost for me.

Yep. It was a family med center. The new owners changed it to senior care and told all old patients under age 60 to go pound sand. They used to schedule patients for 15 minute appointments but now appointments are scheduled 30 minutes. Apparently now they are over booked even though the lobby is empty when I go in. They have spent a lot on up grading the facility. I don't understand how this is a money maker for them.

This is huge imo. I also have a Medicare Advantage PPO plan thru the company I retired from. We each have a yearly deductible of $300 dollars and my wife and I are capped at $1700 dollars each per year.

It’s essentially the same plan when I was working only I had a Copay for office visits, but no deductible to satisfy. Now we have no Copay, but a deductible.

I too pay monthly out of my pension, but every Medicare Insurance company I spoke to said I was better off staying with my company Medicare plan. My complaints aren’t with my Medicare plan.

Oh, and we got to keep the same dental plan, but lost our vision plan. The dental plan was never anything great. But it’s at least something. I too am greatful.

I was healthy as can be, never sick, not even a cold and still continue fairly much in the same health pattern today. So why was I forced to pay out hard earned money just so weakassed, sickly others, like yourself, could benefit from my paltry wages? Why did he not just come out with something to take care of such people, if he truly had 'the best' thoughts in mind?

I've paid into Medicare, and still 'pay for it', every month, which is also a fucked up deal. I paid into an insurance company for several years, and got nothing in return from them when I just barely needed anything, and was barely making ends meet otherwise.

Don't ask me again why I'm pissed. You've no clue to the real world out there; you are the most ignorant. I understand everything. It is about me/myself, not the neighbor, not the homeless, not you. It is me, my life, my money that I was forced to pay out for nothing.....like a fine.... for living a good life!!

Probably depends where you live but I have no complaints. I pay $300 a month total Medicare and G plan supplement and never pay anything once my Medicare deductible is met. My wife currently pays $0 for her good ACA plan with low ($100) deductible and low MOOP (I think $500). She'll be 65 in August and will start paying $300 also.
