My field rating for this team championship is 48%, down from 56% last year.
My breakdown is 51% from the LPGA Priority List and 45% from the Rolex Rankings.
Top Ten Players teeing it up this week:
Jeeno Thitikul (2)
Lydia Ko (3)
Ruoning Yin (4)
Haeran Ryu (5)
Top ten players skipping the event :
Nelly Korda (1)
Minjee Lee (6)
Angel Yin (7)
Maja Stark (8)
Hyo Joo Kim (9)
Mao Saigo (10)
As this is a team event, it will have no effect on the Rolex Rankings. It will certainly have an effect on the Race to the CMA Globe, so players fighting to keep their card for the 2026 season will have a big opportunity here. This will also count as an official win on the LPGA Tour for both winning players.
Other stuff: Minjee Lee's win at the KPMG Women's Championship was the first for a player from Australia this year.
The LPGA has now completed 16 tournaments this year, and there have been 16 different winners.
Jeeno Thitikul's top ten finish this past weekend was her 7th this year, which leads the LPGA. She is trying to become the LPGA top ten champ for the 4th consecutive year.
Nelly Korda, Somi Lee, and Minjee Lee all collected their 9th top 25 this year. Only Jeeno Thitikul has more with ten. Both Nelly and Jeeno have finished outside the top 25 just once this entire season.
In the race for the Vare Trophy, Jeeno Thitikul leads with a scoring average of 69.43. She is followed by Nelly Korda 69.59, Angel Yin 69.94, and Yealimi Noh 70.11.
In the race for the Louise Suggs Rookie of the Year Award, Rio Takeda leads with 696 points. She is followed by Miya Yamashita with 522 points. Chisato Iwai (512), Akie Iwai (364), and Miranda Wang (243), round out the top five.
As is usually the case after a Major Championship, there were significant moves by LPGA players this week in the Rolex Rankings:
Minjee Lee makes the most important move this week, surging from 24 to 6.
Chisato Iwai slams her way up from 38 to 27.
Chanettee Wannasean surges from 58 to 29.
Auston Kim makes the biggest move this week, blasting up from 98 to 49.
Lucy Li improves from 82 to 73.
Outside the top 100:
Wei-Ling Hsu vaults up from 131 to 101.
In Gee Chun rebounds from 188 to 156.
Georgia Hall drops out of the top 100 and out of my field ratings.
