I don't really get the hate either unless it slows down your pace of play. I don't use them, but I never keep a set of clubs long enough to wear them out....who does? I do use them in the travel bag when I fly, but not on the course.

This is why I use them on new builds. I only put them on every other iron though to stop any marking of heads. Esp. on any forged or 1025 heads.

I use them, religiously. If/When I decide to sell my clubs I want them to still look good. I also can't stand
the noise of "bag chatter."

I thought I was all alone. I’m glad there are other OCD members. I put them on my clubs after I clean them post round and then take them off when I use the club and throw it in my bag.

I use sock type headcovers on all woods/hybrids. I have a ton of those brand new headcovers that only cover the head.

Iron covers… one of the “Signs of a Beater” as we used say back when I caddied. Ranks up there with the plastic scorekeeper on a chain on your bag, Tubes jammed in the bag for each club ( which breeds the mental defectives and the 14 way divider cart bags that when you pick them up the logo on the side of the bag is upside down🙄). Also carrying the bag by the handle instead of using the strap… carrying it like it’s a toolbox.

I was a caddy…. We had them all pegged.

I don't want people to be able to that easily see what club I am choosing for my shot, so they are a no-go for me.

I bought an expensive set that I use to cover the irons before allowing baggage handlers to put them onto a plane. Once I ret to my destination, though, I take them off.

Oh, and I LOVE the sound of 'bag chatter.'

Bag chatter is never a problem because I use cart bags like these.

I play in flatter-than-a-pancake NW Ohio and SE Michigan and I use a 3 way push cart, so not much rattling or bag chatter takes place. OTOH, when I KNOW I'm going to ride a cart (like a scramble tournament for instance) I have a set of iron covers to use b/c I have forged irons and I don't want them to look like the picture that @azgreg posted above!!!

My favorite is seeing guys wit covers on every club except the putter…. Makes me crazy.

Putter has been the main gamer for over 2 years. Shows signs of use.
