There are some nice waterfalls in NE Minnesota near Lake Superior. Goosberry Falls is along a major highway going north of Duluth. In that same area is Cascade Falls and if you want to take a side trip into Canada try Kakabeka Falls which is a
bit west of Thunder Bay. It's supposed to be the largest Falls west of Niagara Falls. I've been to all of these and they are very worthwhile visits. Also in the Thunder Bay area is a remake of an early fur trading post where they all dress in period costumes and talk like the early settlers did. It's very interesting. When one of the people there asked where I was from and I told him Minnesota he said "Ah, one of the rebel colonies."
