Gotta get my bag in order, but had a setback last Sat, as my Aerotech shaft just let the 5 iron head fly.
Ordered a replacement, but may pursue for the second time within a year. Love the shafts, starting to doubt the assembler. For the interim, will drop back and put an Adams 2 Hybrid in the bag.

The aerotech shafts are awesome. I've installed steelfibers in 2 sets for buddies ( 95 and 110) and the 125 in their wedges and they love them.

If you did the assembly yourself, check your epoxy , if it's more than a year old toss it and buy new. Epoxy is cheap.

I'm putting my 2008-era do-it-yourself single length irons (4° increments) back into play this year after walking away from them for 3 years, trying to get lighter weighted clubs overall. Concluded that heavier seems to keep the swing better in plane.

I made them at 37" back then. Probably a bit too long in retrospect, after a similar demo club at 36.5" proved more easily controllable during range testing. Just cut off 0.5" from each iron today so they will play 36.5" with 280 g headweight. Finished off with Crossline Tour DEMO grips installed graphics down. Swingweight now D0 rather than D3 (shafted with TT Release Sensicore).

puttnfool Do you like the Wishon irons? Seems like a bit much iron for a guy who hasn't been playing for a long time. But they are nice sticks.

Pete,
Upon further reflection, I don't think that the fitter/assembler, is the problem. I haven't assembled, btw in years, other than grips. What I think has occurred, is, I remember my bag falling over a couple of weeks ago and this could have caused a stress fracture.
I am not about to give up on Aerotech as they are by far the best iron shafts I have ever encountered.

rsvman Eh, the might be a bit much now, but when I put them down a few years ago, I was striking them very well. I only have the muscleback down to the 7i. The 5 and 6 are cavities and I carry a 4 and 3 hybrid. I cannot stand the look of offset in my clubs so I'm pretty much forced to use some type of "players" irons anyway. I figure the 7i is only 1" longer than the 9i and wedges so I should be able to put a decent swing on it most of the time. Love these irons.

Another option for people who would like some game improvement but don't like offset is the TopFlite Tour irons (of the TFT, OMG! thread fame). Topline is thin, very little offset, look like player's clubs from address, but perform like GI clubs. Interesting sole that gets through long grass and rough very well, too.
