sdandrea1 Rooting for most anyone but Rory MacIlDick.

He's probably going to be a terror this year. Said he's only playing about 15 tourneys, or the minimum. And will be for the big pots, but won't play all of them.

Eguller looks like he can put more pressure on himself in the morning.
He still has the opportunity to step on his dick and give this away.

Walterjn He still has the opportunity to step on his dick and give this away.

    One can only hope.......

I find it hard to believe that at 34,J.J. Spaun has only one win!
He looked like a world beater today coming down those final 3 holes....
Damn near drained that last putt!

darpar I find it hard to believe that at 34,J.J. Spaun has only one win!

He shits himself when it counts, like his last putt yesterday, and will do it today.

Good grief. Rory opens the door with a giant slice and Spaun decides to go with him. 🙄

Not the most exciting playoff. I laughed at Rory’s tee shot on 18… went over everyone’s head and nobody ever turned around 🤣.

This looks like a Friday night league playoff at my place

Rory can’t putt… reminds me of Fred Couples when he was younger. He can 2 putt from 2 feet as well as 74 feet.
It wouldn’t surprise me to see Rory trying out the new TM Lab Spider. Doubt he’d trust it for the Masters but at some point I could see him with one to see if it helps

        Typhoon Doubt he’d trust it

He needs to have somebody read putts for him, like his first PGA Tour caddie did.

          Typhoon Rory can’t putt…

Putting is Rory's weakness. Seems the case with several of the Pro's of late though. Scottie Scheffler has struggled with his putting. He's been seeing Phil Kenyon the past couple years.

Putting was Rickie's strength until he started having problems. Look at Jordon, he seems to make bombs and misses short putts. Rory won this week without his A game. Which is a good sign.

Spuzz Isn’t amazing how far you can get in a job without know how to do one of the vital parts. Imagine a car mechanic needing the janitor to come over and open the hood of the car for him Everytime.

This interview they are doing with Rory, Lerner, Chamblee…. They are making a HUGE deal out of him figuring out something on the range without a coach….

          Seriously????😳

Typhoon They are making a HUGE deal out of him figuring out something on the range without a coach….

Yeah. Well, that’s what WE all do - not a huge deal. 🙃

Why bother listening to athletes or coaches interviews? Usually not too enlightening😄.

One of the worst playoff I can remember seeing. Rory played terribly and Spaun played worse. Lab putters should be asking for their putter back.

backinit One of the worst playoff I can remember seeing

Over before it started, like Watson vs. Cink in The Open.
              blech.

Is Rory McIlroy currently the best golfer this century? He has 28 PGA Tour wins with 4 Majors. Tiger and Phil are still playing, but their best is behind them.

The only player who may have an argument is Brooks Koepka. He has more Majors than Rory (5-4) but only has 9 PGA Tour wins.

                Sneakylong

Unequivocally he is the best current golfer ....at least the most talented. Sometimes it looks as though his mental toughness ( or lack thereof) is holding him back. Golf is hard however.

As for best golfer of this century ? Tiger was pretty good in the early 2000's so as much as I could not and cannot stand Tiger, he is still the best we've seen this Century

Weirfan I haven't seen his stats, but I feel like every time I see Rory screw up it's with a wedge in his hand and not so much the putter. I feel like he still needs to learn whatever Dustin Johnson did to improve that part of his game. But as you say golf is hard.

Sneakylong Is Rory McIlroy currently the best golfer this century?

I wouldn't go that far - that Woods fellow was pretty good in the first few years of the 2000s (11 majors between 2000 and 2007) - but you can make a strong case for McIlroy as the best male golfer of the last 20 years (he turned pro in 2007).

Yes, there are holes in his game - as others have already said, his putter runs hot and cold, his wedge approach shots can be a weakness, and he's not as strong mentally as some of his peers - but he has the physical ability to dominate a golf course and is one of the best ball strikers on any tour. While he hasn't won as often as those early years of his professional career might have suggested, McIlroy has consistently been one of the best players in the world - if I'm interpreting the World Rankings data correctly, the last time that he was ranked outside of the top 20 was in 2009...

Rory’s spin seems to be erratic. He always has that confused look on his face when it lands 20 feet in front of the cup like he expects to to bounce forward 20 feet and stop but ends up backing up 20 feet instead.

Sneakylong Is Rory McIlroy currently the best golfer this century?

                  No

He's playing limited field events mainly.
You can't be the best if you don't prove you can beat the worst.
