i got an email that MyGolfSpy is coming out with their driver reviews soon for 2025. Well, here is my much shorter, more limited, and less interesting comparison.
The clubs: OG SIM 9, ventus 6R (mine); Qi35 9 5R; Paradym Smoke 9* (turned to 10), tensai 55R (The Elyte demo cart was locked up with no key); Ping G440 9 55R
Me: 61 yo 4 hndcp, driver ss 90-92
I hit the first one, no warm up, with my OG sim and pipped it 249 total in the trackman. I tried every other set up - none came within 5 y of that. I then hit my sim again, 251 straight.
I left the store

The SIM was a very low spin driver and not the most forgiving but that won't matter if have a good strike. For a true comparison, if you were interested, would be to use the same shaft in all the low spin models and then tweak the setup as needed. In any case, the Sim will be as long as anything today but i would imagine a little less forgiving overall, which may or may not be an issue or consideration for you.
It is definitely not forgiving. But when I try the forgiving drivers I get too much spin. I need to look at diff shafts I know
shokosugi I liked my OG Sim 9 degree as well. Hit is as far as anything else. I “Papa D”d it”… meaning I sold a good club for no reason. I did get more than I paid and used the money for a SIM2 max which is just as long but more accurate. It rivals the G400 max.
I think in the last couple years nothing is any further… that might be maxed out. You don’t see “17 more yards” claims anymore. Now it’s about forgiveness without giving up ball speed.
Adams 9088UL on the FGSPlus is as long as the Speed line Fast 12 but straighter and more roll out. Fast 12 is out of the bag. @Hammer4413 interested?

The FGS Plus wood shafts continue to impress. The cost to performance/feel = VALUE!!! Don't overlook these when building or reshafting on a limited budget or if you're just a cheap bastage.
Remember a few years back all the hyper Holy Grail shit I said about the Honma XP1 Driver on the Vizard 43 shaft?
Ditto..........

Quick review after 18 holes with the new Callaway Paradym Max Fast. It is VERY similar in performance and feel to the Honma XP1 and the XXIO Prime. Flexy, hi-torque, light noodle shaft on a hot-faced very straight hitting head.
Note - the shaft is glued in, no adapter.
