DC300 yes, I think the counter weighted shaft is to counteract the heavier heads.....more heads these days are 204g and up then the standard of 199~200g (pre adjustable/removable adapters). I did have one callaway head + adapter that was less than 200g, but every other one has been 204+, with the heaviest being an r11s at 211g....@ 45~45.5" that's a heavy SW.
IMO the lighter grips came into play with the lighter shafts and heads, plus longer playing lengths. Selling the hope of extra club head speed and distance. Epic failure IMO, SW was within reason to standard, but total weight being less does not necessarily lead to higher club head speed, and definitely does not lead to better contact (of course this does not apply to everyone). I feel little difference in club feel going from 60-80g grip, but when I tried the dtg super OS grip which came in at ~105g, there was a noticeable difference on how the club felt, noticeably heavier. It was too fat under the left hand and pretty good under the right hand. I could not turn it over right to left to save my life, which is a good thing, but ultimately had too many high right shots. Right now I`m using a built up lamkin crossline, but I still need more under the right hand.
