I disagree in regards to comment noting that the Sq 2 Sq should result in LAB never selling another putter.
LABs tech is better than the rest. It just is and it will show up the more you use it.
LABs tech is not just a toe up putter. The PXG Allen, the new odyssey, etc., have similar tech but it’s not the same. They are simply weighted to be toe up. Every OEM will have a toe up putter and will market it as low to no torque due to the tour success of LAB. In my view, everyone trying to copy LAB is validating LABs tech and success on tour.
I currently own a LAB Mezz (standard specs). I owned a Reno which was an early person of the 2.1. I also currently own the PXG Allen and an Odyssey Toe Up #7 from around 2014-15. The “Toe Up” design was not necessarily marketed as low or zero torque at that time and didn’t really take off as its backstyke design is an odd look. LAB actually has an older series of videos in which they tested other non LAB similar tech putters in the revealer and the Odyssey Toe Up #7 performed best of all the nine LAB putters.
That stated, the Sq 2 Sq is nothing more than a toe up putter which they now refer to as low to zero torque. It has a completely different look than the original toe up designs as they added a ton of loft and a design that requires a significant amount of forward press. It’s design really isn’t nothing like LAB.
That stated, despite having just ordered a new OZ1i, I very well may wind up with a square to square at some point. Although I 100% believe the LAB is better tech, I like variety so I will very likely own a square to square at some point once they hit Callaway pre owned.
Also of note, the new OZ1i is available in a non forward shaft lean design as it can be ordered with 0* of shaft lean or with 2* of shaft lean.
