I can't tell you how difficult it is to be completely neutral in some of these cases. An MMA solution occasionally crosses my brain. The restraint I accomplish amazes me. 😂

sdandrea1 It's bad Steve, but I've said this before to others..as much as he could be "disadvantaged" in whatever way, he could have had it all and pissed it away somehow. Whatever the situation you are minding your own business and he is not.

Similar thing happened to us in Detroit. Maybe homeless, maybe not. Certainly a mental health issue. Harassed our group a bit, seemed to focus on me. Could be my resting FUCK YOU face. We ignored it the best we could as we moved on, eventually he moved on too.

That sucks to have to deal with bullshit. You bust his nose for him you get to go to jail. You can’t win. I believe you did the right thing and luckily he didn’t escalate it quite to that point. Seems like I mostly hear about this stuff in the city. Somebody always doing some crap on the news. I never seem to encounter anything like this. I’m pretty far out of the city. Face to face people seem pretty cool mostly. Now out on the freeway different story

In my experience, homeless people are easily triggered and ignoring them is a trigger. When I'm in the city, I always acknowledge them by making eye contact.

Agree that it was most likely mental illness. But regardless you handled it perfectly. I don’t remember anything like that happening. But when I’ve encountered a difficult situation I find killing them with kindness works wonders.

I’ve had several difficult encounters where when you do that their humanity comes out. That’s how you responded. With kindness. 👍
