Drivers are going max length this season. 46". Cleveland is same. ("Oh, I can't hit those long clubs!"🤣)

I'll be making a trek to GG to have a look see at these new drivers. Maybe in a few days. Gotta see what this one looks like.🤔

I wonder if the heads are just lighter relative to the previous generations or they are lighter compared to other manufacturers. I never tried the G430 but gamed the G410 and G425 LST for awhile and both heads I had came in at about 203g so effectively a 210g headweight including the adapter - basically about 8-10g heavier than the average head.

My guess is the longer shaft and lighter head will yield higher ball speeds etc so they can show that the new stuff is an upgrade during launch monitor testing and comparisons.

Everything is $600 or so. I think a lot didn’t raise their prices over last year though.

As far as lighter heads go, they try to move more weight to the rear weight for higher MOI. If they do want a lighter head as Taylormade has done with the Qi35 max lite model, they sacrifice moi. In this case the Max is 10k moi but the max lite is lower.

There is that middle section where it's not supported. I suppose there is a little bit of weight saved and redistributed. Thinking of other configurations and there is always going to be an area where the hosel is not supported, where there is an opening into the head (not all have it but I think quite a few do). I'm sure they put it through rigorous testing. The question I have is will the stress cause any issues on the lower half towards the screw where it's anchored. I suspect it's more than enough support there, but🤔
