I have one and I have had every other option at some point. Though my preference was and probably still would be gas, simply because I grew up with it and learned it well, I’ve been living in a house w an induction top for the past 8 months or so. It takes a minute to get used to, but once you figure it out, it’s actually great. I can take a full pot of water from the tap to boiling in under 2 minutes, get a hard seer on meat and get an even low temp to work with as well.
To your direct question, is it worth it vs conventional electric? ABSOLUTELY. I would install a propane tank and new plumbing to get a flame vs conventional electric. The induction is in many ways better than gas and makes me have no issue with just using it and forgetting gas.
