The championship match was actually fun to watch. There were some great golf shots. I haven't watched enough of
this years shows to really know what's going on some of the time. The "Hammer" flags were one of the things I didn't
know about but figured out they were kind of like a press in a match. I had seen bits of some of the previous matches
but wasn't overly impressed. I found it difficult to keep up with what was going on and what hole they were playing, etc.

I finally watched some TGL last night while on the rowing machine. It wasn't bad as there were a couple of chip ins to win holes. I do think they should make all the holes sort of crazy stupid as that and the chip ins were about the only things holding my attention.

I haven’t noticed yet but if they have a side hill lie, does the sim show it so the player knows he has to aim right or left as if they were playing real golf? I don’t recall seeing it. Seems they only hit at the middle of the screen

Haven't seen that yet.
Only flat rough and the sand with the auto "lip" that elevates depending on the lie.
IMO, it would really add to the experience if they could do it. The tech is out there.

Spuzz Sims that are offering a close to real experience will at least show you the lie on the screen. What you have to do is aim to the right side of the screen if the ball is above your feet etc…. Uphill lies the screen should have the elevation change so you take more club. The ground doesn’t move to give you a side hill lie…. You still hit off the flat but if you have a side hill lie the computer makes the ball curve so you have to compensate for that.

Without a caddie I don’t think these guys are smart enough to figure out where to aim.

The tech is evolving fast enough that our great grandkids will be able to play golf indoors year round. Who needs real grass and all the expense to maintain?

I hope so but for selfish reasons. Get these people off the course so golf gets back to being reasonable again. Prices have gotten out of hand and affording it is becoming less and less of a reality. I suspect the ship has sailed but we shall see!

The Callaway CEO at the PGA Show basically said there was more interest in golf off the course than on, (regarding Top Golf etc) so hopefully all the "shooters" head that way.

I keep reading news like that but I don't see courses getting any less crowded even with the price increases. If I wanted to join even another semi-private club now there would be a pretty large initiation fee. They were offering really nice deals pre-Covid, but you better open your wallet wide now. Still some reasonable public course "memberships", but your round will be 5-6 hours.

Spuzz I don't doubt this but I don't see demand for real golf diminishing. Courses are jammed, prices are up, etc. etc. we shall what this year brings.
