This is on the Hydraulic Puller purchased off eBay.

Quite sturdy and well built. Works very well in "Vertical Position Only". Does NOT work in Horizontal Position. So if that's something you need, look elsewhere.

If you have a bench or work area that will allow you to pull wood shafts Vertically, this one works quite well. Fortunately, my bench does. Iron shafts were no problem whatsoever.

Clamping seemed very secure, but that will depend on the type of shaft clamp and regular cleaning of said clamp.

This one was about $35 more than the manual one I bought earlier. Definitely worth the extra cost.

If you do a higher volume and a place to mount it, this is a buy. Of Course YMMV.

Looks like a great simple design. As long as the bench top is solid it should work well.
If it is just a sheet of plywood with no good support under where everything is sitting will probably break the wood.

Plenty of support underneath. Been using it for years. It would also depend on how you mount the puller. Mounting a plate above and underneath would give greater support.

I don't understand why this doesn't work in the Horizontal position. Perhaps check the jack oil level.

I have used one of these for years. JBPro with pre-load spring. I put a cut down golf grip on the pump pipe handle. Out of biz for many years. I lucked into one from an FGI member BacknWack who was closing his shop. There is also an installed handle on the jack valve so you don't have to dick with the flattened end of the jack handle to open and close it.
