Anybody been there? We just booked a house for the month of February. I've rerad tons of negative stuff but lots of people say it's BS. Sounds like the golf courses are pretty expensive for the condition they are in? I know the par 3's are free.
I think we're near Lake Sumter is that a decent area?

Our Florida home was 40 minutes west of the Villages. We visited there to shop and eat quite a bit. @brownmoose13 lives there in the winter, so he's the best source of info as he knows all the tricks and tips to survive the beehive. We did a 1 week lifestyle visit before we bought where we did. The good news is you don't need to own a car. It's a freaking planet of it's own. Literally everything you need is there from shopping to medical, legal, entertainment, etc. The bad news is it was WAY too crowded and busy for our tastes. I have heard that the executive courses have gone to shit.

Friend from work was there last year and said the same. He used the term "chaotic" but it does have everything he said. He only played a 9 hole course so no fb on the golf.

Supposedly it’s a myth that there’s lots of cases of STDs there. Still I found this just in case. lol

What do the Championship courses cost ?
What do the executive courses cost?
Are tee times hard to get?
Any good outside courses?
Any info on the Village of El Cortez? Near Spanish Springs and Lake Sumter?

1, Championships in season run between $68-$90 with most being $84 since your are a renter

I think Execs will run around $10. I am not sure since we buy the yearly pass
There are some outside courses but usually they are more expensive than The Villages..Juliette Falls(Donnellon) is very popular along with Baseline in Ocala but that is a par 62
Your location is fine ,closer to Spanish Springs than Sumter.
When going to dinner try not to arrive later than 4:30 as most do not take reservations
Hope you have a golf cart as you will need it and getting familiar with the carts paths will be fun.

Juliette Falls is an excellent venue and the exec course Baseline in Ocala is a treat. It's one of the most beautifully landscaped courses I've ever played. Talk to @brownmoose13 . He knows all the tricks and tips.

P.S. The Villages is chaotic 🤣🤣🤣

The burger deal still on? Used to be a round of golf, burger, fries and a drink for $60. EXCELLENT burgers!

Bravopilot In the south dinner = lunch. Never knew why, but Google says that in the farming business the mid-day meal was the large meal of the day.
