PA-PLAYA I don't think "being worried" is an unjustified reaction.

Oh, I'm "soft-soaping" with choosing the word "worried". One, I believe we're way behind having laws, supervision, restrictions, and controls on drones. In ways, we're behind just like social media is yet to be "regulated". Yeah, I know people hate that term. We don't have drones regulated yet. I'm pretty confident than the denial by "local authorities" is just that - denial. Doesn't mean it's accurate or truthful.

Wait, what? Didn't you post this: ""Earlier this week, a police chief in Morris County warned residents of "nefarious" drones seen near critical infrastructure like water reservoirs, electrical transmission lines and police and military installations, CBS News New York reported."
So, what's the difference? What's the contradiction. FAA and the military know exactly what's going on.

I imagine that some men in black with assumed identities would be on the scene to take you in for questioning before you could access the drone. Depending on what they will ultimately be used for, they may be pretty hardened against standard bullets.

Bravopilot I don't care if people wander through my (little) property or even fly drones over my house as long as they aren't doing it in order to bring harm to me. Not that it has anything to do with whatever people in New Jersey may be seeing, but I do worry about drone/robot technology ultimately being used to control the people since electrons don't seem to have much of a sense of morality.

johnnydoom My daughter and her friends have seen a drone hovering over them when they lay out by the pool. What, if anything, would you do then? Just curious. I've got an awesome pellet gun, for when I see one.

That space was yielded many, many years ago. Not just to the Gvt., but to everyone.

Several years ago I was chatting with a fella that bought some golf equipment from me. He mentioned something about how nice my area looked and made a comment about the neighbor's pool.
He lived in Thailand! Never been in the U.S..

Par4QC Space has not been challenged yet in the courts, this will happen. Especially with privately owned drones having more power, range and abilities. 1,000 ft is nothing

It's called Google Earth. It's pretty cool what you can do or see with it. Put in an address and see your home from any angle.

Not meant to imply that. But I've never worried much about something like a Nazi goon squad working in the U.S. because our culture is too diverse and the thirst for freedom and independence is ingrained in that culture.

However, it only takes a small, detached, anonymous group of drone programmers and pilots to command enough drones/robots to squash any areas of resistance and none of the drones/robots are going to have any pangs that might cause them to turn whistle-blower or actively try to undermine from within. Wouldn't even be able to know who the people are behind such an operation or where it is commanded from.

It has been iirc, by using trespassing laws.... absent any local drone regs.... when a drone was involved. Can't recall how that turned out though, nor where it was. Been a few years back, at the start of the drone 'craze'.

(Man's daughter was sunbathing in back yard and neighbor was flying drone over property) Might even have been a thread on here about it. 🤔

Par4QC Not really, especially federally. They have essentially owned the air about 1000 ft. I could fly just about anywhere if I remained above 1000. Although, back in the day, I have flown over many farms at 400'. Turkeys panic at the shadows,
